The unique method of this instrument is to use an open sample placement mechanism that does not damage the surface of the leather and does not require cutting the sample from the tested leather before testing. This enables a comprehensive and reliable quality system to be established between suppliers and customers when leather softness needs to be given priority consideration. This product is jointly developed and designed by MSA Company and BLC Leather Technology Center in the UK. Specially designed for testing the softness of coated fabrics and other soft fabrics in the leather and textile industries. The tested material is clamped onto a test hole with a known aperture, and a certain load is applied to the fabric through a smaller aperture. The winding value is read on the scale pointer. Professional measurement of the softness of leather and animal skins to understand whether the softness and hardness of the same batch of leather are uniform, or the differences in softness of different parts of a single piece of leather.
